Kala Maxym spoke with Sheila Melody of Sound, Mind, Body Podcast

We had the most wonderful time speaking with Sheila Melody of Sound, Mind, Body Podcast in two recent podcast episodes about music tasting and engaging our five senses.

In our first episode from October, we started out chatting a bit about the history of Five Senses Tastings, and then we got into a tasting of two wines – a Cava and a Chilean red wine – which we paired with music, cheese, and chocolate. Our second appearance was for the podcast’s final episode of the year, which explored their lovely mantra “Explore, Enlighten, Evolve.”

Thanks also to Inbound Podcast Network for their amazing work putting this together.

We're honored to have been quoted in the April Issue of "Corporate and Incentive Travel." We shared our thoughts on how to incorporate food and beverage meaningfully and purposefully into meetings and events. You may read the article here or browse through the full issue.

Ok apparently Broadway World thinks we're cool because they keep writing about us and what we're doing in the worlds of storytelling through music and drink. We'll take it. Thanks so much for the love for our new project, friends!

We're excited to back in front of a microphone, this time with the massively creative Prairie Rose, Founder and Editor of Bit by a Fox. We chatted about the history of Five Senses Tastings, my background in music, how I came to wine, and why this is the perfect time for us to be moving into the realm of cocktails in a new collaboration called Song & Tonic. Listen to the full episode here and make sure to subscribe to her podcast channel!

Thank you, Broadway World, for this lovely review of the event we hosted with Education through Music - Los Angeles last Saturday in Toluca Lake. The 4th Annual "Music and a Makeover" event took place in a beautiful private home with about 50 guests in attendance. Guests were serenaded by serenaded by singer-songwriter Judith Hill (The Voice, Michael Jackson), actress/singer Karen David (Galavant, Once Upon A Time, Barry, Timeless) and recording artist Shoshana Bean (Hairspray, Wicked, Funny Girl). They were also treated to a fashion trunk show featuring jewelry and designs from Queen's Trunk and Rose & Sage, as well as children's clothing lines Dulce Swimwear and Ice Cream Castles. We are excited to announce that we will be featured in a monthly column in LA Weekly. Our first article was published in December 2017. Please take a moment to read it here. We also had a great response to our Valentine's Day post on the DIY dinner at home - cheese fondue!

Thanks to the Beverly Hills Chamber of Commerce for featuring Five Senses Tastings. We're excited to be offering an entirely new and exciting option for the Holiday season... and time is ticking, folks, so book a music, wine, cheese, and chocolate tasting for your employees, special clients, friends and family today!

We had SO much fun chatting with the radiant Elayne Fluker of #SupportIsSexy Podcast. On this episode, we discussed heeding the signs when a new business idea may be brewing, knowing when to take the leap and turn your side hustle into your full-time hustle, how to create your own luck when that opportunity comes, how to confront rejection and still be good to yourself, ways to network and make authentic connections, why learning that something doesn’t work or go your way doesn’t mean that you’ve failed, why, as women, it’s our duty to stand up for ourselves, how being a bone marrow donor changed Kala's life. Listen to the full episode here.

We were so excited to chat with Steph and Val from Wine-Two-Five, one of our very favorite podcasts. The episode about Five Senses Tastings aired on July 6, 2017. We talk about how we met on Twitter, how Founder Kala Maxym came to wine many years ago while on official assignment with the federal government, what a music tasting is, and how being a bone marrow donor is still the single most important thing that Kala has ever done with her life. Please enjoy this wonderful episode!

What an honor and a privilege to be on Business Rockstars chatting about Five Senses Tastings and my path to entrepreneurship. When I was considering leaving my full-time job to begin working full-time for Five Senses Tastings, my mom once said to me, "I know you're scared, but staying where you are is scarier." Those words have stuck with me since. Check out the interview here and thank you for watching!

We are so grateful to VoyageLA for their feature on Five Senses Tastings... and it made the Tuesday after Memorial Day just that little bit more palatable ;) We loved their challenging and thoughtful questions and so appreciate the opportunity to share our story with our friends and fans in Los Angeles!

A huge THANK YOU to Erika Beach of With Love, Paper, and Wine for this delightful article on our music tasting in Temecula at Europa Village Winery. We hosted two back-to-back events to celebrate Valentine's Day! The "International Languages of Love" featured California wines made from grapes originating in Spain (Bolero Cellars), Italy (Vienza), and France (C'est la vie) paired with food prepared especially for the event by Europa's own Chef Dean. Musicians included violinist Victoria Bietz, pianist Daniel Bailey, and guitarist Jeff Pekarek. CEO and soprano Kala Maxym also sang a few selections.

We were overjoyed with our feature on the Entrepreneur Podcast Network!

Please listen to our segment below! Founder Kala Maxym and radio host Eric Dye discussed the concept of music tasting and how it is revolutionizing the special events scene in Los Angeles.
